It comes from the Spanish word Vaho, which means steam or fog.  Prepared with pieces of beef, green and ripe plantains, yucca, peppers and onion. Slowly steamed in a large pot sealed at the top with banana leaves.

It is cooked for four to eight hours over low heat, served in a banana leaf with a cabbage salad and vinegar.

3. Güirilas:

The Güirilas.

It is a half sweet, half salty delight. It consists of combining homemade curd with cream and güirila (corn pancake). But according to the best you can find them in the north of the country, in the areas of Matagalpa and Sébaco. But also in Chontales, the dairy region of the country.

4. Vigorón:

The Vigorón.

A typical dish from Granada, where it was born in 1914. This dish consists of a mountain of creamy boiled yucca, crispy chicharrón (fried pork) and a salad of chopped cabbage with slices of mimbro. Which is a cucumber fruit.
